"Against the Wind!" Sound advice from Bob Seger for venturing out, so the return trip becomes a downhill run with a following breeze. Molly and Roadkill tack northwest into the polar vortex on Sunday afternoon, temps falling into the 20s. We pause to photograph a mural near the corner of Greenwood and Piney Branch, then dash to Sligo Creek, dancing over icy patches.
A headless statue stands alone in the woods, arms crossed. Not Rainer Maria Rilke's "Archaic Torso of Apollo", yet nonetheless "... still suffused with brilliance from inside, like a lamp ...". Or so it would be, but for a joker who perches his chin on top!
